Front brakes "clicking"?

I've got a 2005 V8 Sport with approx 40,000kms on it and as of a few days ago a clicking noise occurs each time I apply the brakes. Lots of pad left, rotors are not warped.
The brakes were serviced at 35,000kms. The dealership supposedly took them apart, cleaned and lubricated and put them back on.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is it even an issue?

I'm not familiar with the disk brake system of your specific T4R, but some brake systems rely upon little metal clips to hold the pads tightly in place. Without the clips, the brakes will work just fine, but the little bit of fore/aft movement, which the clips are designed to prevent, will make a clicking sound when you step on the pedal.

I've had my clip equipped car come back from a shop with the clips missing, either because the mechanic was lazy or ignorant I don't know. Finding just the clips was a bit of a challenge, but I did. The new shop knew that I knew about the clips.

I would check for the anti rattle springs, make sure they are there. These springs hold the pads against the pistons in the calipers until overcome by hydraulic pressure when the brakes are applied.

A few years ago, I had a clicking noise every time I applied the brakes on my Subaru Legacy. The clicking noise only occurred once every time I used the brakes. It didn't keep clicking for as long as the brakes were applied, though. I took it to my trusted independent mechanic, and he heard the noise too but couldn't figure it out at first.

Then he put the car up on a lift and had someone sit in it and apply the brakes while he was under the vehicle. Turns out that it was the solenoid or switch that controls the shift lock.

The car can not be shifted out of park unless the brake is applied. Apparently, there is some sort of switch that activates every time the brakes are applied which tells the car that it's ok to shift out of park - even when the vehicle is already in gear and moving.

He didn't bother replacing anything, and over time the noise disappeared. No charge, either.

I would further check that the anti-squeal shim kit (#0945-35120) has been installed per TSB BR004-06 dated March 17, 2006. Hope this helps.
