Front end noise

Newb here, with my first 4runner.
'99 SR5, 2WD, 155K mi.

I'm getting some front end noise intermittently when driving, seems more frequent when braking. Not quite a clunk sound, but something is loose. Steering is tight, but it feels like it's in the steering control system. Nothing is noticeable with visual inspection.

Lower control arm bushings?
Thoughts?

Have you checked your headlight fluid? From the detailed description you have provided, It definitely sounds like headlight fluid.

So, yes your description is quite vague and could be fixed by replacing the front end, probably. Well I'm almost sure anyways.

But I'd look at worn shocks too. Lifting the front end off of the ground and doing a good visual and push/pull inspection should help narrow your search. Headlight fluid makes more of a woosh sound.

It is not a shock problem. I do have limited mechanical experience., but not familiar with 4Runner suspension/steering.
I stated the mileage, so someone more familiar with these vehicles could give me an idea of what typically wears out in the front end, so I can have a starting point.

So, again, can someone point me in the direction of known steering control areas to check, and possibly a tip or two on what to look for.

I'm all for being an ass and all but we are here to discuss and help each other with our 2nd loves but ya really don't gotta be all coffee about it. **** like that's just gonna make the people here that contribute the most go somewhere else. Not gonna tell you what to do, buy let the guy be a douche, doesn't need to be escalated.

Great job patting yourself on the back buddy. Thanks for making a new member feel welcome here too. I must have missed the "constructive" part of your "criticism," and only read the part where you were trolling my thread.
