Hi Alex, I’m very much enjoying your instagram posts showing your latest build! A couple of questions…

How much suspension lift do you have?

Do you have any body lift and if not, did you consider one? I’m wondering with a 2” body lift could you have eliminated or vastly reduced any of the firewall work.

I would imagine you are going for lowest center of gravity while still allowing those larger tires, but I’m curious to what all you considered in making your decisions. How about wheel offset and pushing the tires out further?

I have 4th gen I’m looking to build up and trying to determine between 34s, 35s, or 37s and watching your work as well as other the work of other users on here is a big help, thanks!

Thank you for following my build! I appreciate it. I do not have a body lift and never will. In my opinion body lifts raise the center of gravity without adding much benefit IF you're willing to do the work to clearance for bigger tires. No doubt a 2" body lift would have saved me a lot of wheel well tubbing. It's the easier way but not the better way. I like rock crawling but also faster desert stuff and I want the stability of a low COG. My front suspension setup (Marlin RCLT HD) moves the hub forward 2" so I did not have to tub the firewall. Anything larger than 37s and I will need to do some minor tubbing to the lower outside firewall area (right above the body mount). Wheel offset helps a little bit, but too much offset (more than -38mm-ish) will put extra stress on the wheel bearings.
