Accelerate more gently, don't try to keep up with the crazies, let off gas sooner and coast longer, then easier braking. You can get it up to 14 or 15 if you drive like my age group. Put a big ugly hitch ball in back to keep some of them back a little. Don't look in the rearview mirror.

Enjoy the T4 off-road, you did not buy it for mileage.

let me guess, it also takes you 3 seconds to react to a green light and 5 minutes of back/forth to get in your parking stall. Too much of that where i'm from. PLEASE KEEP RIGHT.

I forgot to add, I can't bike because I have my son with me. My company also has day care so I bring him with me.

I thought electrics were all boring, until I drove a plain Tesla Model 3. Not even the performance version, and it was super fun to drive.

Of course, that's a $35k fix to a problem you can fix by walking.

As someone who can’t stand commuting and used to live a mile from work… I would make the trade off of poor MPG any day of the week.

For the money you are saving in gas not commuting, you can afford to buy new cats. The time saved not being in the car is pretty valuable to me.

Considering it would probably only happen once during the life of ownership, I would gladly shell out for new cats for a short commute and my sanity back.
Plus i'm sure most people would drive their cars to something once a week or so allowing it to heat up properly.

That said, Tesla Model 3 is a solid choice for a city commuter. I'm looking to get one to replace my existing sedan which I use for work.

So you'll burn through a gallon of gas in a week... Thats $3.5. If my work was 1mile away I'd own a 1000hp 6mpg drag car. Realistically I'd ride a bike, my dad would throw me on the back of his bike rack with a pillow. Many options to haul a child around on a bike.
