Gone But Not Forgotten!

20 years ago today was the bloodiest and most heroic battle in U.S. history since Vietnam. Our Special Operations Forces were deployed to Mogadishu and met thousands of armed thugs! With the heroic efforts of so many, our Special Operations Forces took the fight to the enemy and showed them what a determined operator could do!

These 18 brave men were a part of 1st Special Forces Group Operational Detachment, 75th Ranger Regiment and the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

Our Special Operations Soldiers showed the world what they were capable of when roughly 150 of our best faced several thousand militiamen. Even though we lost 18 brave men during that battle, they held their own and accomplished their mission.

Great thread post. These guys were true heros and it's humbling to read some of their stories. RIP and thank God for people like this that keep us safe every day. To the younger guys out there: take some time to read about this incident and the Heroes who fell.

I don't come here often so I missed this...

NSDQ RLTW. Thank you for your sacrifice brothers, save a seat for me in Valhalla.
