Greetings from South Florida

Hello all!

I currently own an 07 Tacoma Sport 2WD that I've had since new. I'm currently getting ready to get rid of it and possibly picking up an 06 Toyota 4Runner V8 4WD White/Grey & Black Interior, that I've had my eye on for a few days. I'm going to take a look at it on Saturday. Dealer is asking 19.9K for it with 39K Miles. Hoping to get it for 20 - 21K out the door with tax-tag-title included.

I'm also looking to modify it and start putting it on trails wondering if there are any trails in So. Fla. I found a few in Central and of course northern Florida! Looking forward to learning a whole lot here in the next upcoming years! Cause I'm keeping this truck till it dies!!!!

What kind of trails did you find in central florida? I just moved to Orlando.

Where are you in south Florida? I have some family on the gulf near Ft. Myers. seems pretty flat all around this state.

Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest has offroad trails with 4x4 recommended. It is out by Immokalee. You'll possibly see deer etc. And the trails were very wet after the rains 2 days ago. Your other option is Big Cypress National Preserve in between Naples and Miami off 75. Google "Redneck Yacht Club" and they meet a couple times a year near Ft. Myers. Also Devil's Garden does something similar in the area as well. I'm visiting family down here and researched this a lot since I just purchased my Trail. This is at the very least a good start for you!

Very soon I plan on getting a trail with KDSS myself. How do you like it? Also is it true that you must get the nav system if you want KDSS?

I have a video I can post to YouTube of going through water fast haha. I LOVE my new TE w/KDSS, the off and on road performance is sick. Mine does not have nav, for me with tax the $3,000 was not worth it with an iPhone for GPS. The nav also has the upgraded JBL speaker system (15), but again for $3,000 one can go buy and install a system for much less. I like the stock sound so it's all good.

Yes! A reply! I was hoping there were Florida Members here. I live in Miami and I'm looking for any trails really. You guys posted a few thanks for the 411.

I have an 09 Sport 4WD V6 with 43K Miles that I picked up a few days ago after trading in my 07 Tacoma Sport 4x2. I'm in LOVE with the 4runner!

Are these trails ok for 4Runners in stock configuration. It will be a while before I slowly start to modify it for more serious off-road trails (if there even are any in Florida)

My Trail is stock, no problems with what I did. The KDSS gives me some advantages with height etc as the independent suspension does it's thing but your very OK with where I went!

back from ocala, barely

Well I just got back. It was a lot of fun but not very challenging (at first). There is some minor elevation changes but it's mostly just windy narrow trails with a LOT of sand. I was rallying pretty quick through the trails and found some random mud holes and wet spots to play in, but other than that it was mostly just fun to be out in the woods.

All in all, it was a lot of fun, but I did manage to completely bottom out my truck over a sand dune. They had closed off a trail with multiple sand humps so people can't get through. Well I thought I could get over, nope! My tires just buried in that white sand and we're just spinning deeper and deeper until my chassis was on the ground. Since I was alone, I had to hike out and find some random guy to pull me out. Probably need to start going with people, hah.

That was an experience in itself though because I ended up meeting all these local people. Anyway, I'd go back but I'd want to try to explore some new areas.
