HAM Radio License Exams in MD

So you want a HAM radio license or an upgrade, you've been studying and you live not too far from the Baltimore, MD area, but you don't know when/where there will be a test session?

Well, on Saturday, March 27, 2010, there will be an opportunity for anyone in and around the Baltimore, MD area (Timonium) to apply and get tested for a HAM (Amateur Radio) license. The exams will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 2004 Greenspring Dr., Timonium, MD. Check-in is at 9:00AM and the exams start promptly at 9:30AM. Pre-registered examinees will be seated first. Did I mention that the EXAMS ARE FREE?

While you're there why not take in the 2010 Greater Baltimore Hamboree & Computrfest? Show hours: Saturday, March 27, 8AM until 4PM and Sunday, March 28, 8AM until 2PM at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, MD.

BTW, you don't have to be from Maryland to attend and/or take HAM exams...it's open to everyone that can attend! Just pre-register for first choice seating. I know several HAMS from my area that make the trip down to Timonium annually just for the Hamboree.

any in going down in the WA, things are pretty sporadic out here or a long ways from me, i was looking heavily into 10,11 and 12 meter radio's and certs, but lost interest due to no support base. i wanted to get into dx'ing/skipping
as i do alot of mountiaeering and though this would be the best format of remote contact, and well plus i just dig the old tech, sat phones don't do it for me and to be honest i would love to go with one of the old tube systems beefied up and run them off of solar (since i'm dreaming)

Solar cells and tubes don't mix very well together I think.
MOSFET would be better suited for those experiments.

Interesting, I was actually thinkin' whether there are any radio amateurs around these boards...

Has anyone taken eHam.net amateur radio practice exams? I've also come across the MIT Radio Society and their Remote Examinee Info Packet. Only two dates are left - July 30, 2020 and August 19, 2020.
