Hello all. I just bought a 2008 4Runner Limited (stock, no lift), and the headlights seem to be adjusted to shine a very short distance compared to what I'm used to (former 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee owner).
I'm not sure which headlights I have, but the pattern looks like what is described in other posts. The headlights shine in three distinct sections: a shorter distance to the left of my lane, a longer distance in my lane, and longest distance to the right of my lane.
I understand from other posts that this pattern is normal, but the problem is that I can only see maybe 75 - 100 feet ahead in my lane; there is a sharp cutoff in light at that point (dark after that). I thought I was just being picky until I ran over a large branch in my lane because I couldn't see it soon enough while driving at a reasonable speed.
Before I go adjusting my headlights I want to check: How far do your headlights let you see ahead of your 4Runner? Are you satisfied that normally adjusted stock headlights let you see as far as other cars you've driven?
