Help me justify Gobi's Roof Rack Price

While I may or may not disagree with some statements. . .friendly reminder to only provide the FACTS at hand and :focus: to what his initial question/title was. "JUSTIFY Gobi". Several examples were provided for and against. . .but this thread shouldn't involve recent events or WMW. He can do a historical search and find other examples.

I do not what to get a debate about Gobi's business practice.

They do sell a good product and its been proven over at the 5th gen forum. Seems like every other 5th gen has a Gobi rack. It's been proven its a high quality rack. It has to since they price it as a premium product.

I'm just giving my experience since I own a Gobi rack. Everything has been positive from my standpoint. No rust or fitment issues at all even after 2 years. No delays in shipping, etc. Trail Duty website has been phenomenal as well.

If I had to go back I would most likely purchase a flat rack as my needs have changed and I would like buy a Autohome RTT. I think a flat rack would suit it better.

Can cross members not be fabricated to attach the tent to those and then to the bar around the side? Just wondering

I have cross members already. I can attach an autohome to my gobi without any issues.

Using a flat rack will have a cleaner look and reduce the load by 1-2 inches.
