Help !! Squeal from rear end. ?pinion bearing?

Ok so recently my runner has developed a squeal. It sounds kinda like a drive belt would when not tensioned properly. However its coming from the rear end and only when I take my foot off the accelerator. Doesn't make a sound while the accelerator has pressure on it and it doesn't make a sound below approx. 30mph regardless of the position of the pedal. I've done a bit of research and read that it could be a pinion bearing.

Has anyone had this issue before?

so ya I'm pretty sure is a bearing issue in the rear. Damn. I'm sure it will cost more than I have to drop.
Any suggestions on what I should do. Upgrades? or just get it fixed. I don't know what is required for me to fix it myself but Id hate to take it in for someone else to fix.

sounds like ring and pinion.

cheaper to buy used pumpkin from a junk yard and replace.

Turns out that it was just the driveshaft. Required lube. Had me scared tho

rear end squeaking

98 runner 4wd, w/ 165k, commute 2500 miles a month, lots of dirt roads and dust. has the same sound. Only happens when I let off accelerator.
Sound is orignating from rear end. I lubed the whole drive shaft and filled the rear dif with gear oil.(couldn't drain because didn't have socket) will do that next.
Result, nothing has changed, still squeaking loudly, and occasionally makes a loud knock when I'm changing gears.
Is this a rear dif problem? Pinion? Bearing?
