Help with Winch

If you are not going to use you winch then get either one. But, when you really need a winch you want one that will work!! Get a Warn!! It will cost a little more but you get what you pay for and when your STUCK no amount of money is going to get you out if you winch decides to go south...

There's a group buy on warn winches over at Tacoma forums. However, I've done my share of research. And I came across many forums and reviews. And I seen people say, they owned a Warn and nothing but issues. Switched to smittybilt and they love. And I read where people said the opposite. And so honestly, it is what it is. Heck I read Harbour freight winches aren't bad either. If you don't know how to use, work a winch. A thousand dollar winch won't save you. Personally I'm gonna be ordering smittybilt x2o with synthetic rope. It's like $550 on Amazon.

I'm trying to decide between Smittybilt or Engo. Any opinion would be appreciated?
either one would be fine I think.

I have seen more broken/non-functioning warns over the years, than other brands.
one could argue, that's because there are more out there, perhaps. but broken is broken. and I promise you, there are a shitton of NON warn winches out there too. but for some reason, they keep working...

myself, I use Rigged Ridge winches. ive been very happy with them.

Reviving

Sorry about reviving an old thread but it’s been a few years, has the winch game changed? What’s reliable? I’m planning on putting an sso or c4 fab bull bar with winch on the front and it fits 9500 non isolated, any experience with good ones?

Thanks in advanced

I have only used a Warn and have never been disappointed. My buddy had a smittybuilt and had nothing but complaints about it.
