Hi everyone! I'm finalizing a deal on a Blue 2005 4runner sport with a v6. I've never bought anything with this many kms (212000kms not miles) but it looks like it's been better taken care of than any of the lower mile or newer ones. Lots of maintenance has been done such as brakes, tires, all fluids and lots of other stuff which is why I'm choosing it over others and it really looks almost perfect from the inside out and under and I don't think it will need anything anytime soon. I'm super excited to finalize the deal even though my wife wants me to get something newer or with fewer kms but this is perfect for me. After driving it I decided not to go with the hybrid highlander. I figure the money I'm saving will more than make up for gas savings.
Anyway, is there anything else you guys recommend I check within the the next couple days when I take one more look at it?

4runner service up to 215,000 miles

Hi, I do a lot of regular maintenance on my 2008 4runner and have been very happy with it. I've got 215,000 miles so far and have had to fix the following things:
-LF brake caliper (one of the pistons froze while doing a brake job)
-alternator quit at 180k
-LF and RF wheel bearings were both worn out at 200k
-Shocks completely worn out changed them at 210k (now bilstein 5100s)
-rear main seal noticed was weeping at 180k (stopped after 1 1/2 bottles of lucas stop leak)
-flushed all fluids around 150k
Other than that I drive the heck out of it!!!

I just bought an 08 with 113K. All of my other 4runners have easily gone over 200K with minimal problems. Glad to hear the 08 is a solid year

Just bought a 2003 4runner SR5 with 166000 miles. A lot was replaced by previous owner, rides and runs great!

Make sure you exercise the Emergency brake. The previous owner apparently didn't and it stuck on the first time I used it. Its not a cheap fix. It might be worth getting one of those 120 point inspections. I wish I had for something so simple as the E-Brake, would've paid off.:ybrick:
