If you can afford it id say get them powdercoated. If you want to paint them yourself make sure you do the prep work. You dont want to come out and see the paint peeling off two months later...
Lol well I am impulsive and couldn't wait.. I went nuts all day today and did the centers of the wheels, the mud flaps, the upper part of the bumper where the dog jumps up in the trunk, the plastic gray part of the front bumper, the roof rack and the 3 cross bars. I sanded everything prior to spraying and did 2-3 coats depending on the area. I also can't afford crazy stuff. I'm a girl so there are still girly things I buy before car accessories... I bought rustoleum outdoor textured black paint. $5.67 each can
Hey, thanks for all of the welcomes! And I was thinking of the Chrome on the front and back but I'm afraid if I don't like it then I'm screwed. I want to leave the emblems silver.. Idk maybe I'll do the Chrome bumper things tonight.. after a cocktail.
when i did my chrome grill i didnt sand it i just cleaned it really well and it came out better then i expected. so dont sand and if you dont like it then peel away! sorry for the huge picture but my phone assumes i want everything in 8" by 10" format
welcome.. truck looks nice- If your worried about doing the rest of the chrome just get some plasti-dip. once it dries if you dont like it you can just peel it off.
