How far have you driven in your 3rd Gen?

So, me and the wife recently took a trip to Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine from Louisiana, which was a great trip by the way. The only thing I had to repair was the coils and spark plug wires. The coils were original to the car, I should’ve changed them before the trip but at any rate, I drove mine roughly 1,400 there and 1,400 back, include the driving between the three states totaled around 5,200 miles for the whole trip with a starting odo of about 150,xxx.

All of that to say, it got me to thinking, how far has everyone driven their 3rd gen? From start to finish, trip or otherwise, and mileage when the trip was take.

P.S. the elevation change was about 1,700+/-, with a max elevation of 6,288 (Mt. Washington).

Where are you in Central LA? I used to live in Natchitoches.
What kind of gas mileage you got? My 97 4x4 is doing 16.6 MPG max at 65 MPH at cruise. After acquiring the Land Cruiser 100 series, I take it on long trips because it is more like in a ship and gets 17.7 MPG!

I live in Ball, its outside of Pineville, its one of those towns that you can pass through in 5 minutes. My FIL actually works in Natchitoches, has been for a long time. I don’t visit there as much I should, the downtown is gorgeous.

I think I got around 18-20 for the whole trips, but I also used the higher octanes a lot and those got me better gas mileage. I get around 16-17 daily driving it. Does the LC have much more space in the interior?

In June I drove my 97' Limited (had 240k miles) from Portland OR to the boundary waters in Minnesota and then back (was a total of around 4200+ miles including a stop at Yellowstone along the way.)

I returned in late July and then in the end of August I drove my truck from Portland to Silverton CO, stopping in Moab on the way back. Was a total of around 2500+ miles.

Had a two week break in-between but my total summer trip was about 6700-7000 miles.

Edit: Had to replace the cabin air filter, two oil changes, and fill the wiper fluid (insane amounts of bugs in the Dakotas this year) on the trip. Didn't need a single other repair.

Wow, thats pretty impressive! Did it ever start to slow down towards the ends of the driving day? Did you do anything to help it through the trip?

I know on our trip, driving that long everyday, he tended to start losing a fair amount of power towards the end of the driving day. Sounds like it was a very fruitful vacation!

I was locked in on cruise control at 60-65mph the majority of the trip and that helped quite a bit. I also replaced the battery, alternator, and terminals before the start of the trip and that made a difference. At the very end of my trip I remember driving back into Oregon and my truck was finally starting to feel a bit slow..that said on the last leg of the trip I was driving on trails in MOAB for 8 hours and then the immediately driving to SLC for the night and then back to Oregon the next morning so it could have just been that I was tired too lol.

After getting an alignment went I got back home and another oil change it felt great. Started the June at 240k and ended August above 250k.

I've done Washington, DC to Las Vegas and back twice, which is about 5,000 miles round trip on the I-66 to I-81 to I-40 to US-93 route. Made it to Santa Rosa, New Mexico in the first leg of the 1st trip with about 1/2 hour of rest somewhere in Arkansas. This was about 10 years ago, but if I recall, it's about 32 hours of drive time from DC to Santa Rosa NM. I won't be doing that again, that's for sure. I bought new BFGs and a new Interstate battery with my Vegas sportsbook winnings—Ravens over Steelers, 35-7. But it took me awhile to fix the oil leaks that resulted from the trip.

Let's see, longest in one day would be from South Lake Tahoe to Mesa Verde Np, by way of SLC, UT, according to Google 934 mi, 14hrs, 34 mins.

We drove from bay area to Kansas City, then to Big Sandy TX, then home, over 2 weeks, I think that was a little less than 7,000, Total. Not a direct route at all, lots of bouncing around to see things. Rear lock cylinder broke.

When covid hit we bugged out as the world burned and went to Utah. Planned to start in southwest corner and head east, eventually getting to moab. There was so much to do that we never made it halfway across the state. Fun 2 weeks, I think about 5k miles. I tore out the fender where my dual battery tie down thing bolted to it.

Earlier this year we took 2.5 weeks, up to glacier NP, and Yellowstone/Teton. Tons of farting around, dispersed camping, wheeling, etc. About 5k miles I think

Longest off road days, there have been many 100 mile + days

Longest off road "short cut" 120ish miles, pavement to pavement, leaving elko nv, going up to Idaho.
