How to fix door stops on 2000 4runner

Every time I park on a hill I nearly break an ankle because my doors won't stay open. Has anyone replaced the tension device on one of these? I know I could figure it out but thought I'd ask first since I'm up in Alaska and a quick trip to a well stocked store is not an option and I don't want to start and then find I needed some little part. Thanks

i have the same issue with my 2000, until i fix it, my driveway is sloped so i just back in for now. ankles are still killin me...

I was gonna say park with the slope and let your door fling open (maybe messing up the door)

JUST HOLD IT WITH YOUR HAND!!!!!!

You will need to replace the Door Check. It is 91.66 list price from Toyota. Part # 6862035010 - Looks like toyotapartsales.com has it for 68.88 plus shipping.
