I was thinking... (4Runner Jamboree)

I recently went to the FJ meet and am considering going to the Land Cruiser meet this July at Rausch and started wondering, is there something similar for 4runners? Idk if the 4runner community is as big as the other two, but I definitely see a lot of enthusiasm in the forums I was wondering if we had something similar. Let me know if I missed something because all the time lurking and finally becoming more active i haven't seen anything. Hope to get some responses!

Edit: Title change due to finding out about the East Coast 4Runner Jamoree

How about the East Coast 4Runner Jamboree, we've been having that since 2003 or so.

Moving this to Offroading section.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was in the wrong section.

But anyway I did not know about that event. I've only heard about the toyota lone star Jamboree, but never knew there was an official 4runner one.

After looking in the forums it seems like its not an official thing anymore, but more of a meet up:

The 11th Annual East Coast 4Runner Jamboree is June 24-26, 2011 at Rausch Creek Offroad Park in Tremont, PA.

Here are the details:

Over the last 11 years the EC4RJ has evolved into a totally low key, informal event. Just show up, camp, go wheeling, break and fix stuff, eat and drink, repeat for a day or two, go home.

There are trails for all vehicle/driver levels. No fees except what it costs to wheel at Rausch Creek. (Rausch Creek Off Road Park)

All Toyota 4x4s welcome. Really, all 4x4s are welcome.

Magazine coverage from past events:
East Coast 4 Runner Jamboree - Four Wheeler Magazine
Toyota 4X4 Trail Rides - Toyotas Take Paragon - Off-Road Magazine

And keep an eye on the newsstands for the August 2011 issue of 4WD & Sport Utility Magazine. It will have coverage of last year's EC4RJ.

4Runner Jamboree is at Rausch Creek June 26-28 (we'll actually be there Thursday June 25 after work). Years ago it was a real event, but nowadays it's just a small group. Anybody is welcome, 4Runner or not, Toyota or not.

Does anyone know why it became an informal event?

Does anyone know why it became an informal event?

Most of the original crew have sold their trucks, had a bunch of kids, moved away, or otherwise have gotten out of the hobby. The event grew for several years, then slowed down a bit around '08 or '09. A couple of us tried to revive it a few years ago with little success. It's more of a pain in the ass than you realize to get sponsors for raffle prizes, t-shirts & stickers made, etc.

So now it's just a handful of us who don't get to wheel with each other very often. We all try to make it to at least this one trip each year to hang out. And anybody else is invited to come along. We still call it the EC4RJ and still want to get new people to attend.
