Issue with loud noise coming from engine

-While driving on a long trip (350km's) near the end of the trip I noticed to hear a loud noise coming from the driver side (left side) of the vehicle. Sound got louder and louder so I pulled over to the side. While driving in the parking lot it made noise so I turned my wheels left sharp, and right sharp and the noise seemed to go away. After I thought the noise was gone I hit the highway resumed speed, around 60 km/h the noise came back. So I stopped again to the side. Once again I hit the highway and the noise stopped, resuming speed to 60 km/h there was no sound, hit 80 km/h and there was still no sound. Just to be safe I stayed that speed for the rest of the trip (5km's)

It never made this noise for the whole trip, just all of a sudden, now it seems to be fine. Though I have not completely tested it going 100 km/h yet.

Would this be an issue with the power steering? Possibly just a rock that got stuck some where?:moping:

I had a similar experience. Interesting that you question the power steering. I had the power steering tensioner pulley to seize. It sounded like the engine had thrown a rod...man was I scared. The engine would "knock" loudly then after 60 seconds or so get quiet. Look closely at the pulley. The bearing can be totally melted and the pulley will still function without shredding the belt. Best of luck!
