It's a ZJ, so the tranny probably failed.

nowhere in those pictures do i see a 75% of a jeep sunk in water. i see a jeep being pulled up slight inclined by a MINIVAN...Thai, i will never take a jab at your minivan again.

Thank you...sooner or later, everyone will be soccer mom! BTW, it was a chrysler/dodge minivan too! My Sienna would have pulled that Jeep in reverse!

On a more serious note, did Jeep GC of that generation have QuadraDrive I?? That Jeep seems like a Limited model. If it did have QD1, then QD was notorious for not working very well when there is too much slippage.
