Just wanted to thank you guys for being a great source of knowledge. I just purchased a 2008 MDX Sport yesterday for invoice and 2.9% APR. My decision to get rid of my rig was made for a couple of reasons. First of all, it was a lease and I was on pace to be over my miles by 12000 miles as well as invest money on tires for a truck I wasn't going to keep. My friend loved the truck so much, he purchased me out of the lease. It was a no brainer for me financially.


The second reason was comfort. At 6'4", the lack of thigh support created plenty fatique which really bothered me. I also felt I was paying a premium for off road ability and towing capability I would not use anytime soon here in Jersey. The way I figured, might as well pay for more luxury instead.

I will say this was one of the best vehicles I have ever owned, probably second to my 94 Supra TT. I will miss the V8 and the feeling of indestructibility.

The MDX fits my lanky frame much better, although I will say the steering wheel doesn't extend out as much as I would like.

In any case, good luck to all of you. Who knows, maybe 7 years down the road I may get another runner or a GX.

Well unless you really want to go, I'd stick around. I know there's another member here who traded his T4R for a Mustang. At least too you'll be able to stay abreast on the goings on of the T4R, and that way maybe if Toyota starts investing money into better drivers seats, you'll have all the knowledge should you want to buy another! I hope Toyota reads these forums. I'm only 5'6", but also find the seats lacking. I swear my 1997 was more comfortable. And my lumbar support had already died, and the warranty will not cover the repair. It would have to be $300 out of pocket. No way when I can buy a $40 pillow!
Who makes the MDX? Mazda right? I have no knowledge of your new car, but I've unfortunetly never looked at Mazda's.

LMAO, sorry. MDX, oh yeah, Acura! Sorry! Yeah I've ridden in Acura's and they are very nice!!

40,000+ trouble free miles. It's a totally different animal, but its been as low maintenance as my 4Runner.

My Mom loves her 08 MDX. Feels really sporty when you get up high in RPMs. She hasn't been happy with the MPG though.

My brother has an 07 MDX. Apparently, he is having a few first year production quirks with the car. In addition, I think the build quality in the 4Runner is better. Other than that, the MDX is a great vehicle. It handles very close to a BMW and is loaded with fun technology.

I think in the city, my V8 4runner was a bit better, but in the highway the MDX is a bit better. ALl in all, it's a wash with my V8 4runner. It's amazing how the public has this misconception that just because it's a crossover, it will have better mileage than a traditional SUV. Just not the case.
