JDM motor in but a couple problems

Ok good news is my low mileage JDM motor has been in for a week and running great. The timing belt was recently done and I put on a rebuilt starter and alternator. So all good there. Now I have noticed what sounds to be an exhaust leak while driving. But when I look under hood and blip the throttle I can't hear anything. Even at idle it sounds fine. It is however bothering me. I also noticed a small oil leak when it's been sitting. Not sure where it's from as I haven't wanted to pull skid plate down and look. Someone talk me out of selling this truck please.

The leak probably only manifests itself under load... Did you replace gaskets? Check bolt torque?

Maybe wait a little bit to see if a black carbon leak is visible? Maybe exhaust manifold is cracked?

Investigate.

Crawl underneath while running and see if you can hear it under the vehicle.

I'm not even sure it's exhaust leak. I can hear the sound coming from vacuum hose on top if intake manifold. If I squeeze it , it stops. Not sure if that's it though.

How do you end up with a JDM motor in NJ? They are probably the same, but you never know what random emissions related thing wont line up correctly.

Smoke /fog the exhaust system and then watch for smoke from the leak

There is a wholesaler here in NJ. My mechanic actually used them before. I should add the motor was professionally installed. He had to reinstall the manifolds so I'm sure he used new gaskets and everything properly torked. Funny thing is if I drive with windows down I can't hear it.

Oil leak was nothing more than a loose drain plug. Thank God. While skids were of I degrease bottom of truck since it was coated with oil from my old oil pan leak. Looks super clean. Now to figure exhaust leak out.
