Lookin for a good tune

Hey all, im new to the site,and new to drivin a 4runner. Just bought a 93 t4r (5 speed V6 4x4) I must say im impressed with the 4 wheelin this vehicle can handle (has 220 k) coming from driving a 2002 3/4 ton HD (had to sell cause lady needed a new vehicle). Anyways, im lookin to do a good tune on this puppy for fuel/performance reasons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also any suggestions for a good, bang for my buck type suspension lift would be awesome.

There isnt alot on the aftermarket for the 3VZE unfortunately, but for fuel and performance enhancment I think just doing a full tune up would be really good. That will help with your mpg.
Maybe do the exhaust, check out http://www.downeyoff-road.com/

Also, changing out the fan for an electricly powered fan will help, I have an electric fan on my 4Runner and so far I rarely have to turn it on but it is still kinda cold out, I only have to turn it on in alot of stop and go traffic when its warmer out. Im going to have to wait and see how it holds up this summer. You can buy electric fan kits from flex-a-lite and other companies but mine came out of a Saturn Ion, the previous owner installed it so I cant really tell you much about that.

Basically a tune up, intake/exhaust upgrades and maybe an electric fan will give you the best results.

Thanks for the info.I was actually looking for more specfics as to what i should do for a tune up.

Such as :air filter,plugs,wires,clean throttle body,possibly upgrade exhaust system.

Fluids :engine oil,trany,diffys,radiator.

Is there anything i missed,not sure,if so please let me know.

distributer cap and rotor, Oxygen sensor, fuel filter, oil filter of course, maybe run some fuel injector cleaner through, some sea foam engine decarbonizer.

You could upgrade the exhaust with downey headers a high flo cat and a muffler (I've read 2 1/4 inch piping is best)

hmm other than that I think you have most of it.

basically just replace most of the fluids and make lubricate everything that needs it.

Im about to do the same thing with my 4Runner, Im going to replace all fluids with Red Line oils and lubricate everything underneath, do air,oil and fuel filters run some seafoam through it, clean the throttle body, buy a new Optima battery, plugs, wires, cap and rotor etc etc. basically everything I can, that way I know its done.

Im sure I missed some things but other people might jump in and give their $0.02
