looses all power around 2500 rpm

ok i am looking to buy a 4runner but it has a problem. i test drove it and once i hit 2500 rpm id lost pover and would not accelerate. is this a major problem or an easy fix? please help

Hi, I have this same issue with a 4runner I just bought. I've taken it back into a cooler climate and it seems to have these problems when the engine is cold.

Once its warmed up and driven a couple of miles its fine.

Same thing though, will struggle at 2500 rpm in 2nd and 3rd, but once its been running for 10 mins or so and has warmed up, its fine.

Only seems to happen at 2200 - 2500 rpm once it reaches 3000 its fine.

My 4runner is a 94 with quite a few K's (sorry miles) on the clock.
