Have you tried Catahoula? I've read good things about it.

I'm in Shreveport, we've only got mud parks in this part of the state. Nearest (to me) offload parks I've seen are Catahoula, Hot Springs, and Barnwell Mountain (East TX).

I'm originally from Shreveport, but live in Baton Rouge now. Back in high school we used to ride around on some pipelines off Wallace lake road south of Overton Brooks (we buried my friend's titan out there once had to get a bulldozer to get it out) . We would also ride around the dam off Ellerbee South of Leonard Rd.

I haven't tried it yet. I guess it has trails, and isn't just a big mud pit? Might have to try Barnwell soon.

My understanding is that Sicily Island/Catahoula is more than mud pits, but I've never checked it out myself. Barnwell Mountain gets good reviews too, but that's a longer drive for you.

I've got stock tires currently so I'm not going near that stuff, but that's all I've found locally also.

Bar well is less than 3 hours, so if it is much better than catahoula it's worth it to le to drive.

Drove down some forest roads in kisatchie near Georgetown today, not really worth the trip. The trails were pretty narrow. I'm sure I have some pinstriping, and I dented my driver side rear bumper. Got the dent popped back out, but it doesn't seem to want to clip back together. I have a friend that's a mechanic at the dealership here, I'll have to get him to look at it and see if it can be salvaged.

Baton Rouge here. Looking for some people to ride with as well. Thinking about riding with the guys at 4x4 Life offroad - Guided Off-road Park, Off-road Vehicles this coming Sunday.

It's a good group. Sunday guided runs, and they break you into groups based on driver and vehicle capability. I've run with them once last year, and planned to get in about 2 or 3 times a year with them. But It just hasn't worked out this year. $60 for a day guided run. They're about 2 hours east of my location in Leesville/Fort Polk and about an hour north of Baton Rouge, so I drove over the night before and got a motel nearby for the 8 am meet up. And when I say guided they will do all the getting dirty if it is required. Lol
