So i had my first 5,000 mile oil change on friday. Knowing me, I'm the kind of person that would walk out in the parking lot looking at the cars even if it's freezing cold or boiling hot. So I walked around and checked out some of the 07 Runners. I've noticed, have they gone down in MSRP lately? I.E.
06 SR5 2wd V6 w/sunroof was around $32000
now
07 SR5 2wd V6 w/sunroof and VIP RS3200 around $31000+
And I've noticed, are 2wd V6 (w/o sunroof) w/3rd seat rare? It was kinda weird to see that kind of combo as it is only about $700 more than my SR5 2wd V6 w/o sunroof.
Here's where the story begins.
So I had the oil change and rotation. I was pleased at the way the service guy treated me and that he honored his "coupon" (written on the back of his business card) for my 5,000 mile oil change. It was like $30+ for both oil change and rotation.
Once I got my 4R back, I noticed a big scratch on one of my rims (the others didn't have any scratches and were done neatly). It looked like the guy removing my rim was talking to someone and wasn't paying attention when he was inserting the drill to remove the bolt, so he scratched it a few times. Had my service guy check it out, he went in to talk to the manager (I guess) for 10 minutes, and comes back out telling me "So we need to get your tire size" and at that point I was like "wtf?" . They actually agreed, not to re-touch it, but to replace my rim! It's a 2 week wait and I have to leave my car in the shop for a day, but damn that's service. Unlike other dealership, even Lexus, could sometimes be a pain. Like my GX, I had to fight the service guy, and eventually went to the service manager to complain about my rim "graffiti". Some idiot who rotated my tires wrote on my left front rim an "L" and an "F" (and the "F" was backwards too!) but eventually they agreed to have it re-touched. I'm guessing with the 4Runner rim (17" on SR5s), you really can't have it re-touched?!?!?!?
