My NEW 2007 Limited V8 4X4!

I took delivery of my new 4Runner a month ago, and I will attempt to attach a photo.

The black paint is WET!!!! When I saw it for the first time at the dealership, I said outloud to myself HOLY $*#t!!!!!! That paint is blacker than black!!

I LOVE the 4.7L V8 too!! It's powerful and sound great when excelerating! There's just nothing like a V8!

I had the dealership instal a Kenwood DNX7100 Navigation/CD/DVD/Ipod/Mp3 player. The GPS even has an altimeter, and live traffic and weather reports too!

Does that Kenwood work with steering wheel controls ? How does it sound with stock speakers ?

Can you take a pic of the radio set up ?

Any mods planned ?? off road stuff ?

Hey Falls,

Yes the Kenwood does work with the steering wheel controls but only when you are listening to a CD. When playing XM Radio, the volume control works but you cant surf through the chanels. The Kenwood does come with a remote control, which I have found handy especially while listening to XM. It allows me to surf without reaching up to touch the screen. I can change chanels with my right arm resting on the center console.

One thing I don't like is that to chanel surf thru XM, the XM must currently be displayed on the screen. When the GPS map is on the screen, you can listen to the current chanel, but you can't surf.

The Kenwood sounds pretty decent through the stock JBL speakers, but one of the first mods I'll do will most likely be adding an amp and maybe a small sub to get a little more umpf out of the stereo.

I'll post a pic of the unit and the remote momentarily.

Hey guys and thanks for the nice comments.

Falls........as per your request, I have posted a photo of my Kenwood DNX7100 and the remote control it comes with.

I think the install was done very well, however my one little gripe are the gaps on the left and right sides. Top to bottom, it fits perfect but I wish the silver facia came in tighter on the sides.

Oh well, I guess I can't have it all!!!!

I'm thrilled with my 4Runner nonetheless!!

Hey guys! The wheels are 18 inch with Michelins.

The sunroof wind deflector makes a BIG difference. A. It really cuts down on wind noise (especially at highway speeds) and B. It all but eliminates any wind coming into the cabin (and messing up your wife/GF/mistress' hair).

No plans in the near future for any off road mods. It is my DD, and I'm still in the "it doesn't have a scratch on it" faze

Most likely the firsts mods I'll do will be to get the front windows tinted to match the back, and eventually a speaker upgrade and amp on the stereo.

Eventually, a brush guard with Hellas and a winch would be cool, but that's way down the road. I've got to make some more cashola first :

For now I'm good with it as is. We'll see how long that lasts!!!!!

There's ALWAYS anonther toy out there!! Such is life.

A little off subject, on your XM radio I noticed it is on channel 71, WaterColor. When I fly on Air Tran, I go right to that station.

Last month a buddy told me about www.pandora.com For people like me that don't have XM raido, you go to this web site and program your own stlye of music. I use it all the time I am on the web, as background music.

Hey Peter78. Thanks man, I'll check out the pandora.com website. I too; always try to have music playing in the background when I'm sitting at my computer.

I'm flying Delta to Las Vegas right after Labor Day, so I'm hoping they'll have either XM or Sirius to listen to. I talked to a Delta captian while waiting for a flight a couple of months ago, and he said that Delta was in the midst of equipping it's aircraft with a GPS (live map)/TV/Movie/Game screen on the back of every headrest.

He said they were starting on the longer haul aircraft first like the 767 and 777 that fly international routes or domestic routes longer than 3 hours.

I'm flying to and from Las Vegas on a 767-400 ER so hopefully it will be equipped. I'll take my MP3 player anyway just in case
