The two in the center console are not for the heated seats. The limited has a different console w/ additional cutouts for the heater switches.

The far left knockout on the dash is for the 115 AC powerpoint.

Ahh... Is the 115 AC powerpoint difficult to DIY install? Do you know what the 2 cutouts are for in the center consol? When I see them I feel as though I'm missing out on something!

The general consensus is that the factory 115AC is not worth the $$ for a retrofit installation. From the factory it is an $80 option. That, I believe, is worth it for the factory integration. But remember this is only 100W, not 400W like the FJ. Therefore if I were to do a retrofit I would get a quality aftermarket unit and hardwire it direct to the battery and go with a minimum of 400W.

The two cutouts are just extras and not used by the factory. Good for aftermarket lights and such.

The blanks on the center consule are for the air suspension option on some sport and limited models.

If I can ever figure out how to get the center counsel out I'm going to relocate my DAC switch to the front switch panel, it should be just moving wires and switch.

What is RSCA ?

Damn I want that VSC off switch sooo bad . I only like having it in few circumstances. Its nice but to touchy to not have an off switch .

the lower grill where they mount the lic plate got pull-out by a bit, that's the only change on the front grill. i bet no one will ever notice it unless using a precise measure tape to compare the difference.

I still cannot tell ANY difference. Ya know, I think there is no change whatsoever, no front grill change, no seatbelt change, no tire pressure warning change, nothing.

I think the 08 is a carbon copy of the 07.

Alright, you got me curious now. I'm driving out to the dealership when I wake up to pick up some things for my 4Runner, so while I'm there I'll check out the '07's lower grill and see if I can tell a difference between mine and the '07's.

**update** I haven't been able to log onto this site for some reason for the past few days. I did end up going to the stealership, but I didn't see a difference between the grills. *shrugs*

FIRST TANK OF GAS



I have reports on my first tank of gas! The little trip computer says I was averaging 19.6 MPG...

In reality:

I drove: 367.6 miles
Filled her up with: 19.142 Gallons ($56.26 ...bas****s!)
Giving me: 19.204 MPG

I'm pretty happy with that!

I'm now about 1/2 full on my 2nd tank of gas and the little trip computer is saying I'm averaging 20.8 MPG, so, we'll have to see what that will really turn out to be. I'm hoping to break the 20MPG mark!

Baby's First Change

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 marks a memorable date in my 2008 Toyota 4Runner Sport's history. She had her first oil change. It was actually my first time doing my own vehicle's oil change. I'll never pay to have it done again. It was so simple and only took about 20 minutes. I like how it has the "splash guard" or whatever you may call it where the Oil Filter is. What a great idea! I've never had a car or even seen one with that piece there - is this unique to the 4Runner? Anywho, I was going to buy Amsoil Synthetic after reading reviews online (it seems to be the favorite,) but unfortunately the local auto part store I went to didn't have it. I didn't feel like driving around to other auto part stores, soooo I just bought what was on sale. Next time... I'll do some shopping around and buy a case during the next big sale I see. Lesson learned! On to the details:

4,800 miles exactly on the odometer

- I plan on changing the oil and filter in my vehicle every 5,000-7,000 miles OR every 6 months.

PureOne Purolator oil filter installed

- someone on this site actually recommended using it. it's blue too! haha I like the blue.

5 quarts of Castrol Synthetic 5W-30 on sale at 4.98 a quart.

- it was the cheapest unless I went with the store brand which I didn't feel right doing.

I'm in the process of moving and I can't find my owners manual at the moment, but the part store said it would take 5.5 quarts. I did fill it up with 5, let it run a 'lil and it was up towards the max fill line on the dip stick...sooo I never used 1/2 of the 6th quart because I didn't want to overfill it. I'll check it again in a few days and see where it reads.

That is all! Oh, and now that the warm weather is finally here, I'll finally be able to start the mods! Oh yeah!

That thing is sweet!!! Congrats man. That is exactly what I would've gotten if it wasn't for the need for a 3rd row seat. I got the SR5 last year because of the 3rd row seat, but I love the sport. Soon I'll at least have it looking like a sport!!
