I dont believe I have a "front camera input" on my Alpine HU, I am pretty sure I plugged it into the AV in as I can go on the head unit and choose AV in to see the camera video.

Overhead Console Wiring

Nice. I installed the capacitor version of that cam. I wired into the ACC2 wire in the overhead console. I bought a 5v switching regulator and put a 3 amp inline fuse right before it. The console comes out easily to do I was able to take it to my work bench and solder and heat shrink tube it.

The acc2 line powers overhead lights and stays on for 15 or 20 minutes after you shut the car down which is good for the capacitor version that turns off after a few seconds when power is cut.

I realize this is several years old but I don't suppose you could tell me how you knew which wire was thge ACC2 wire in the overhead console? I would like to follow your lead. Thanks!
