Need advice for an older 2nd Gen

I bought the 4runner

Hi there again, I bought the 4runner Thursday and as I was driving it home I was I the interstate and then out if nowhere it just shut off on me I was thinking it was the alternator but other people told me it was either the timing or the starter but the starter was put on there before I bought does any body knows what's the problem and how to fix it ?

First thing - check this part for cracking. If there's crack(s) your engine WILL shut down.

Question - Does it crank at all? If not - check the battery to see if it's holding a charge.

what do you guys think about this one? Price seems a bit high, saw it in person and the exterior and interior (what I saw, it was locked and they were closed) were EXTREMELY mint.
