Need opinions/suggestions on buying a runner

Hello members, I'm new to the forum yay!!, well I'm in the process of looking for an suv and picked the 4runner! I know the three trims they offer (sr5, sport and limited). I need help from you experience runner users to guide me in picking the right trim.

1st. I have kids, 2 to be exact and they're boys. So I need something sturdy.
2nd. Leather seats is a must, you know boys, they tend to spill, leave mess. etc
3rd. V6, dont really care if it's 4wd or not (commuter, occasionally long trips/camping/fishing).
4th. Colors I'm narrowing down to is black, white, and gray (w/bumpers color match)
5th. As for years and price, 2006+ and under $24k.

It may be difficult to find an SR5 and Sport with leather (it has to be port installed or aftermarket). You are probably going to have to go for the Limited but the price may be higher than your budget. Are you looking for any other options?

Sounds like you'll be in the market for a nice 4th gen Limited. Just know that with that top-of-the-line model, you'll encounter top-of-the-line prices.

As for what to look for mechanically, the first one right off the bat would be CHECK FOR FROZEN CALIPERS! Id make certain the brakes were serviced when the rig was brought in for re-sale. Wheni got my 2008 in February, I made sure the Toyota Dealership had the calipers taken off, made certain there were no frozen pistons on the calipers (and this is an easy task, as they had to check the pads n rotors anyways).

If the truck was serviced consistently, then there'll be a service record available online. If you go to the Toyota.com site, then go to the "Owners" area, you can put in the VIN# and see what was done and when.
