Never Ever Ever Buy A CoilPack from Advance

Ok…I have to admit, at the time, I was trying to save some $$$ and did not want to go to the stealership to buy coilpacks. (I’m guilty as charged!) So…..I used an online coupon and bought three new coil packs at Advance Auto Parts. (As they say; “You stray, you pay…”)

These Chinese made POS’s are the WORST! Crappy rubber tubes that “weld themselves” to the spark plug tube wall in the engine. You have to get the Jaws of Life to pull out the pieces. I knew it was not a good decision at the time, but I was cash strapped at that moment. OK...time for LittleCaeser to comment about how Liquid Moly would have solved this (HAHAHA)

If you have ever fantasized or thought about buying something other than OE coilpacks for these engines……slap yourself (or have someone slap you) and spend the $$$ on the OE parts. Never, ever, ever, again will I make this mistake!!!!

Ok, I have to ask if you had a CEL/misfire that required that you replace a coil pack? Hats off to ya for wanting to replace all three at the same time.

However, being on this forum LONGER than me, you should know by now that either OEM or OEM manufacturer is the only way to go. Nothing from AA except batteries, oil, and other fluids. Don't over think it. KISS, and you will be fine.

BTW LM does make a penetrating lubricant like Kroil, but is only for sale in the EU.
