Never Thought I'd Own It (pics inside)

Well, I never thought I would own this 4runner. My mom purchased it new back in Sept 2001. It's a 2001 SR5 4x4 with leather seats and currently sits at 165k miles. It is 100% stock. I've been around it since I was 8 years old, now 22. After reading through the forums, I knew that these 3rd gens were special. The 4runner has seen many vehicles in my family come and go and I'm glad it still stayed. I have every service record and receipt from anything that was ever done as well as the original window sticker and 2001 4runner brochure (which was pretty cool to look at). It will be my DD as well as offroading, camping, roadtrips, everything etc. Going to be doing everything maintenance first, then some mods will come.

Also noticed your from NJ. I am to. What town are you from. I live in Lakewood, and there's a spot of route 70 called airport road. Which me and my friends go wheel at and fish. Nothing crazy but fun.

Dang guys, I grew up in Jackson off 526 and my brother in law lives off Wrights Debow with a lifted Orange 89 Toyota Pickup. I'm sure you've seen it around.

Ahem, I'm about 30 minutes from Lakewood. Have yet to do any wheeling in NJ, also love to fish. Do tell a little more please. Looking at google maps, are you fishing Lake Wadill? if so, What's the fishing and wheeling like?

Looks like it was well taken care of. I would swap the seat bottoms so that tear on the drivers side is on the inside of the passenger side and not very visible.

Agreed. It was either a Sequoia or the 4runner. I'm happy she chose the 4runner. Nothing but routine maintenance.

Pretty cool to see a "single owner" 4Runner. How is the underside doing rust-wise?

I plan on getting new foam and leather bottom one of these days. I can deal with it for now though. My mom is short so she would slide in instead of hopping on up.

I believe the passenger seat bottom is interchangeable with the driver side, looks like the center console would hide the damage if you do swap it.

Thank you Russel. I'm very lucky to be owning this 4runner.

There's some local trails I'll explore and it will be a great vehicle in the snow. I would hopefully like to travel the U.S (particularly the west) and explore the landscapes out there. I am really enjoying the truck right now and can't wait to make it mine.

For a NJ truck its whole life, I would say the undercarriage is in great shape. Mostly just surface rust. I'm going to be wire wheeling all loose rust, priming and painting the frame and oiling it up before winter.
