New 97 4Runner owner in Phoenix

Hey everyone. I just bought this 97 4Runner because I wanted a 4X4 that could take me to all the places I go on my Dual Sport motorcycle. I plan on keeping it for a long time and I hope it takes me to the most remote corners of Arizona hopefully the surrounding states.

I'll be honest, I feel like I spent way too much on it, but prices for these trucks in Arizona seem to be really high. 212,500 miles, NO rust, mint interior, everything works but the sunroof, NO paint on the roof at all. The sun has eaten it off.

I paid $4,700...which seems like a lot to me. :shocked:

Paying 4,700 for your 97 is under the KBB price. I sold mine for 3,000 to my roommate though because she had so many miles on her.

Take good care of her! They're reliable vehicles!! Hence why I bought another but 2011.

I love the color you got though. Mine was a sandy color. I recently just replaced the side marker light for my roommate.

Looks well taken care of I'd say worth the price to me. I plan to take mine down to AZ sometime to visit family and hit some trails as well later this year. Nice find! Any plans to do anything to the roof? I was thinking of vinyl wrap to protect my roof from scratches from snowboards etc.. that might work for yours too?

I've been thinking I'll probable have it repainted eventually, but I haven't considered a vinyl wrap on it.

I like this color a lot too. It has a tan interior which is one of my favorite color combinations for a vehicle.

Another Phoenician here with a certified rust-free AZ 4Runner. My 2 cents, you did not overpay. Especially if you scored a diff e-locker. If not, and the rig is pretty clean and rust free, then I think you got a good deal just the same.

My 4Runner has reliably taken me everywhere I've wanted to get to so far in Arizona. Yours should do the same with a little trail prep.

Just bought new 3rd Gen tonight as well, Excited and wondering just like you are about the $$ I spent, Went up to PHX last week to look at one that had 100k on it, he wanted 7500.00 and it needed work, I passed, to end up finding one in CA 1 owner 160k on the odometer , I paid 7800.00 Thundercloud Metallic, can't wait to share the build , I am a Youtuber as well so I will let ya know my channel handle once I get it up and going with the The new runner, I am leaving the Jeep ownership world and "graduating" to the Toyota World wish me luck ,
