No kids or dogs in the front seat! Icky burn pic...

New to the forum, posted a few weeks ago after my '13 was in a major collision with a Camry. '13 is back in action after 5 weeks in the shop.
Please please do not let your kids or pups in the front seat...I let my dog in the front seat, but after this accident never again.

I received a terrible chemical burn on my forearm from the airbags going off. There is a lot of debate re: dog restraints/crates/gates, but at the very least save them from a miserable burn! It was like a jelly fish had a baby with a sunburn...

My guess would be from the air bag deployment. But I would also say that a lot of the tissue damage is from the speed of the rough nylon airbag causing abrasions to the forearms. Just my .02

Glad the 4runner is back in action. How did the dog fare?

And my curiosity is killing me. Why is the accident vehicle red in one thread and silver in the other?

Dog wasn't in the car...just sharing my experience in case someone does have their dogs in the front.
The burn pic was after the blistered skin had been ripped off by a backpack armband...not awesome.
Both the red and silver cars in the same accident. I had right of way through intersection, silver car turned in front of me, hit her and my momentum carried me to a car sitting at the cross street waiting on the red light. Super fun lunchtime accident.

Glad you're okay. I agree 110%! Dogs (and children) should never ever be allowed to ride in the front seat, nor roaming free in the car. You'd buckle your child safely in the back, why not your pet?
