OME/KYB Suspension experience/feedback

Just installed OME coils on all 4 corners. Mine is a 1999 T4R with KYB shocks.

Front
2880's STOCK/LIGHT LOAD (0-110LBS) SPRING 1.25"

Rear
2890's HEAVY LOAD (330LBS TO GVW) SPRING 2.5"

Guess I got too much rake and due to that, the rear end feels wobbly. Thinking on getting a pair of 2906's. They are supposed to be .5" shorter than the 2890's.

Any thoughts on this? Someone having the same experience with the 2890's?

In general, it feels much better than before. With the stock Toyota coils (actually a new set I bought), the rear differential and A arms where frequently making contact with the bump stops. So annoying! Also replaced steering rack bushings. It doesn't jitter anymore.

I don't think it looks too bad. If you go with the 906s, you may end up level, or even some reverse rake. I would maybe get the 1/4" top plate spacer that Toytec makes. That will bring your front end up just a tad and take away some of the rake. Its also cheaper than getting new rear coils and trying to sell the ones you have.

2 of these...and you don't need to take your coilover apart.

I can consider that as an option. The thing is that it would require realignment and I was actually looking to eliminate the bump stops contact; getting it lifted was just part of the cure. Thanks for the advice anyway! I will take some measurements. Half inch is not that much. :thanks:

would work well with the 880s. If you want more rake add the 10mm trim packs.

While riding on the highway today, moved driver's mirror down to check how the rear tire behaves. I actually noticed a side to side movement at some point. Normal or not, I can't tell as I don't have the equipment or tools to determine how much the differential moves to the sides. Will try increasing the tire pressure as I am running them a little bit low (pushed it from the side yesterday and noticed the tires walls moving as well). Anyway I think I'm getting a pair of 906's. I'm not happy with the way it looks.

Read somewhere that the wobbly feeling can be the result of worn out bushings (panhard, etc). They have cracks on them so I guess I'm replacing them too.

Do I need an adjustable panhard after lifting my Runner? I guess so!

Just did a light check to the rear suspension. No noticeable movement or worn out bushings (need to remove bars to actually check on them). Took some measurements leaving the chassis resting on jacks and dropping the differential on its own weight. At that point, the differential is actually off center for about 1/2" (to the right). Put it on the ground again and that difference went down to about 1/4". I hope to reach actual center when replacing the coils with the 2906 (supposed to be about 1/2" lower).

Had it aligned after putting on 2890's. Called the guy who did the alignment and he told me that it is a mild lift and I shouldn't be needing an adjustable panhard to get the differential centered. He said alignment was within specs. Not so sure about that info...
