Parking lamp replace with LED, ran hot, burned out LEDs

In case it helps someone... I put in these VLEDs 6-LED High Visibility Amber LEDs in for parking lamp. They burned out some of the LEDs in less than 4 months. I put in a new set and immediately had some flickering/dead LEDs.

VLEDs has been helpful - they're replacing/refunding and suggesting I go with less bright/less hot LED lamps, due to the heat generated in the small space for parking lamps in the 4th gen 4Runner.

The heat diagnosis makes sense for the first pair that burned out over time, but I'm still not sure about the second set. One of them had dead/flickering LEDs from the second I plugged it in, not even inside the enclosure yet. I also tested bulbs 3 an 4 on a bench test (separate 12V DC power supply) and they worked perfectly. Now I need to look into whether the heat possibly also damaged my lamp sockets... There is a slight browning of the plastic on one of them - not a good sign. :/

LED's have a maximum junction temperature, automotive around 302 degrees. When used next to an incandescent or halogen bulb it can fail easy, even with adequate cooling. The heat from the other bulbs basically heat them up and break them

I put LEDs in my parking lamps as well. the drivers side one started blinking after a couple months. I'm just going back to incandescents. Not worth the trouble for me.

Well these are the ones I put in. Didn't last very long for me. The only reason I even noticed they were bad was because i pulled up next to a wall and saw the blinking light reflecting off of it. Not sure how long they were doing that while driving around.
I bought them at the end of November, and I noticed the blinking a few months back. I've just been driving without them for a while.
