I have a surco rack that came with the 4runner when I got it. I've had a fair amount of weight up there and its pretty beefy, I don't care for the clamp style mounting it has the possibility to rattle off. I am thinking that they can be taken off the crossbars and bolted to the stock crossbar mounting nuts

i have been looking for a while I haul a lot of bike crap between shops. Including bike boxes which take up the all of my rear storage with seats folded down. I don't have a sunroof and would like to get the biggest rack i can. I found a killer deal(the link is not the deal I am getting) on a Rhino rack system with an old XTray

I use a stainless steel U.S. Navy stokes litter for a roof rack. Long and narrow so it doesnt hang up on trees to badly, great for sleeping in when your camping! Very sturdy and I got it for cheap from DRMO auction on base. Made brackets for my lights and CB antenaes.

Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform
They don't have a size listed on their site for the 2nd gen. I took a measurement of what I wanted and found the closest one on their site. They have a bunch of attachments and brackets for just about everything. Currently I have an awning, spare tire, rotopax, hilift and light tabs installed on mine. My buddy has a jeep with the same setup and has a roller on the rear for putting stuff on it easier, awning, rotopax, hilift/shovel combo holder.
