Price Check Please? 2008 V6 Sport, 105k miles, $16k

Toyota shows an alignment at 48k miles and floor mat recall fix at 102k miles.

The lot provided the Carfax which shows 6 other service records of basically brake pad/rotor replacements at 48k and some misc. oil changes here and there. No accidents. Not sure how accurate Carfax is. I haven't used them until now.

It looks clean, but looks can be deceiving too. Unfortunately I'm picky. I want a sport that's 2006 or newer. I don't mind high(er) mileage because it's my daily driver and I know how long these trucks will last with proper care. I would also prefer the JBL system, because frankly, it beats stock somewhat, and I've done enough stereo upgrades in my time that I don't care to do anymore.

Dealer stated there is no rust underneath. Also said X-REAS was not inspected for leaks. No other mechanical or cosmetic issues (according to them). I didn't ask about the spoiler light (I know they can go out). I'm not a fan of anything but OEM oil filters and I noticed the one on it is the same brand as the battery. This makes me wonder if the battery was replaced when the oil was done.

It's on autotrader but I went ahead and found some high resolution photos of it so others could get a better look.

I live in Oklahoma and would hate to take a 4-5 hour drive to just be dicked around with by a salesman.

I'm pretty aggressive in negotiating. What do you guys think?

Yep, good question though. We get snow here every winter but it's not enough to require 4WD. I would go either way just depending on availability. I don't do much off roading (unless I'm stuck behind yahoos at Walmart).

Don't need snow for 4wd. If you go offroading or doing some adventures in the woods or forest, be nice to have 4wd.

It's in Dallas, TX.

I will be selling my '97 SR5 that has 280k+ miles on it. Wife is currently driving the '07 Sport. I really enjoy driving it when I do, so I want to get another. We'll have two 4th gens in the family. I just like the look of the sport package and X-REAS is great, when it works.

And as cheesy as it sounds, I really dig the hood scoop too, which is a major selling point for the sport edition.

Understood. I just don't get in the weeds enough to need it. I'm not opposed to it but I'm not making it a requirement.

Seems a bit high to me. I bought an '08 2WD V6 for $16K two months ago in Houston, and it had only 65k miles on it. See if you can get that price down.

Yeah, I agree. It's a bit on the high side.... But, hey, we have a lot of people from Dallas on this forum... You never know. One might be willing to check it out on your behalf.... If it were in Houston, I would have.

The seat covers were replaced. Looks like an aftermarket leather kit. Katzkin maybe? I replaced mine in a Sport with an OEM kit and can easily tell the difference. It does not mean anything bad, just something to consider.
PS: I bought mine used and after seeing the nastiness that soaked through into the cloth seat covers... I will NEVER own used cloth seats again. Nasty!

Wow, good eyes. With that said, it has me wondering why in the world would they need to replace every seat? I see the driver side often reupholstered due to wear, but the entire vehicle? hmmmmmmmm

I would not worry about it too much if the covers are quality. most likely, it was just the owners preference to have leather seats.
That said, many of the aftermarket kits are made to be "easy to install"... which is not really the best. The leather often is loose and will not look completely professional.
When I redid my seats, I managed to get an OEM kit from Ebay. I will post the user name since it was such a good deal. For $300 (couple years ago) I got something like 15 different pieces. I am positive it was exactly what dealerships use. It took some effort and probably about 10 hours of my time. Google: Hog ring leather seats install.

Price does seem high for the mileage though. I would either bring them down or look elsewhere.
