These are all well put statements from other men. I was kinda hoping for a window into your mind Sir. A little more on this viewpoint. I can pull quotes for myself of great men making one line statements.
Not trying to start a war with you, just asking for you to elaborate and use your words to do so like me and everyone else in this thread
I'm a real gun enthusiast, collector, safety believer, NRA member, etc... so that's not in question here. I also fight for what I believe and will stand up for causes I believe in. I just don't use my weapon as an offensive option. I am not military or law enforcement, therefore, my weapon should NEVER be used in an offensive manner...strictly defense for civilians is my point plain and simple. We've had quite a bit of offensive statements and viewpoints and that's the difference in viewpoints in my mind
Those quotes are short and sweet, and where used to illustrate my stance on the subject of tyrants and liberty, which imo, is the message behind the OP's quote.
I am a true believer that democracy in itself is a great concept, but in practice it fails. Many systems came to be, but ultimately, the power always resides on top of the pyramid. I ask you a simple question, If you where to be president or king, would you allow the people to carry guns?
What if these people started to think for themselves rather then just listening to the television? It seems we as a society have become great at accepting information and not questioning or criticizing it! What if we disagreed with what is going on. Would we be successful taking the streets screaming and getting gassed or shot at because the army or law enforcement plays for the OTHER team? How would we accomplish what we want? Do you think your representative represents you? or the big interests that control THEM.
If we are unarmed, uneducated, divided and manipulated, do you think we would stand a chance? Radical change is needed, history repeats itself, but unfortunately we don't like to read and think(ignorance is bliss comes to mind).
If you look at all the revolutions that have taken place, even if it benefited the people for only a short period of time....they all have something in common.....Freedom is paid by blood!
But who knows, after all these years we as a species repeat mistakes, human nature? Ignorance part of a defence mechanism? But let me tell you this, the government, or whatever you want to call it, have LEARNED and refined their methods over millennia.
A great paradigm shift is needed, we need to stick together, we need to get educated on what matters....
