Professor Outraged at Boston Police

I have to laugh at how incredibly clueless she is.

Too much force was used to capture the now dead terrorist? :pound:

I would love to know what her opinion would be as the terrorists actively shot at her, or tried to blow her up. Like, oh, I don't know, the terrorists were trying to do to the cops at the time.

She is able to have her elitist, idealistic, but woefully naive existence. All the while feeling justified in haughtily judging others that she smugly sees as less civilized, all because of this great and true quote, that was posted in another thread.

“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

George Orwell

KC, I don't mind most of the liberal crap, but when someone like this dumb Obamasexual b!tch comes on the net and type those idiotic statements...in the midst of the Boston tragedy, it annoys the hell out of me!! How is what she wrote NOT offensive to any Americans?!

I just don't understand the world that we live in these days...I think that I am more depress about it as I see what our generation is leaving behind for my 3 wonderful kids! And now, less than a week after Boston tragedy and the manhunt for the killers, we have this liberal calling out the police and raising the killers to a higher standard. WTF?!

I just wonder if it's ignorance, stupidity, or a cry for attention.

KC

I'm guessing all the above.

Until they are faced with a true "Oh F moment, I'm about to die is there anything I can do to help myself" they or many for that matter will never understand it.

Blue :usa2:

I wonder if this CUNT professor would write that same idiocy if one of her relatives (much less her kids) were injured or killed by these terrorists?!

They would be different words but the same idiocy. She'd probably blame us for causing the terrorists to feel the way they do, or blame the police for not stopping them.

I'm outraged that the Boston Police barged into people's homes and conducted their searches at gunpoint.

Did they have warrants? Did people have the right to refuse?

An entire city turned into a police state over the bombing. Scary, indeed.

Yea that's pretty scary too. I know there's a thin line between security and privacy, but that definitely crossed it. What would the scene have looked like if there had been several major city's bombed at the same time?

Yeah, I agree, the whole lockdown thing sure sounds like martial law of some type.

BTW, I apparently got an INFRACTION by one of the moderator for something in this thread. I know that it was not COB who gave it since he "liked" one of my post in here. WTF?! :help: Of course, when I reply to ask why...NO RESPONSE. Nice.

The "lockdown" of the area is one thing, and a smart move. No one but the bad guys would be moving around if people complied (which they did).
The door to door search tactics was a different thing. Done without a warrant in the name of "anything" (ie, using any ruse) certainly tramps on some rights. If they came to my house looking for a hiding terrorist and found my meth lab and all my girls for hire chained up in the basement, I'd be a little upset. ;)

j/k

PS, I don't know who infracted you at this point, but my guess it was for using the C word, which could offend someone somehow somewhere.

I don't really see a problem with the door to door searches. After all, if you feel you have someone contained, the next logical step is a systematic search of that contained area. It's not like the police are routinely searching people's homes on a daily basis. This was a very specific, isolated incident based on extreme extenuating circumstances. You want the police/government to protect you and find these a-holes, but you don't want to allow them to properly do their jobs? Can't have it both ways. If this guy had been hiding out in someone's house and wasn't found/got away (and went on to bomb NY as planned), I am sure the same people would be complaining saying "why didn't the police go door to door?" Sometimes being in a free and safe society requires its members to temporarily forgo some of its liberties under the most extreme circumstances, which I think this definitely qualified as being.

I don't care if the world is ending.

Cops have no right to be in my home without a warrant.

Small minds resort to personal attacks. Those of you making fun of her glasses or calling her names aren't helping your point.

What is your opinion of her editorial? Insulting others in this thread won't help your point either dude. That was not obvious to you?

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what it is you find so deplorable about it?

This line seemed significant to me:

"While terrorism is about causing fear — again an emotion — we do have to account for our conduct in these extreme times when adrenaline is running high."

America has a longstanding history of justice and freedom. Seeing things like warrantless door to door searches is disturbing. By getting people to sacrifice fundamental freedoms and rights, regardless of the situation, those things are being devalued. (I think you could make the argument that Al-Qaeda has indirectly taken away Americans freedoms)

I would also agree with those who commented about the media's over coverage. Terrorism does spread fear and the last thing we need is the media acting as a megaphone doing the job for them. I think we could learn a thing or two from Israel on things like this.

JD, what is deplorable is that this lady demanded that we show these two POS terrorists the utmost dignity...and that we are somehow judged by international "courts" for things that happen on our soil involving the killings of innocent civilians by terrorists!

We're NOT talking about door-to-door searches here...she was referring to the actual act of capture of the terrorist. No, this is NOT about the city lockdown. This is about us being too violent towards the terrorists during the pursuit of these two terrorists.

And when did this thread become about media coverage? Lets stick to topic at hand.

I assume she is referring to torture, right?

I believe that this was written immediately after the capture of the 2nd terrorist. Otherwise, how exactly did we torture him after the capture? He was in a medical center on a breathing machine.

^I dont think it was necessarily an implication that torture HAD taken place, just that it quite possibly could and shouldn't. Unless I'm mistaken I thought the order was to take him alive, I assume that would be for the purposes of obtaining any information he might have had.

Dude read the article again instead of guessing! She is calling for internal affair investigation. Wtf are you talking about? !
