Question about chevy leaf springs

Has anyone heard of or is there anyone on here that has chevy leaf springs in the front of their runner? My bro in law has a 78 Blazer that he is parting out and i have first crack at the 63's for the rear and i can have the front springs also. Is this something that is do able?

Sure, it's doable. Measure the distance between the center pin and the front eye. Now measure forward that distance from the center of your wheel well, and that's roughly where the front spring hanger will sit. Might look funny, I'm guessing it's going to be about a foot in front of the front bumper...

So are you kinda saying it's do able but not really practical? Someone suggested using toyota rear springs. What are your thoughts? I have noticed you are very knowledgeable so i will listen to any suggestions. Wy wife rides shot gun and occasionally drives i want it to be safe and fun and functional.

Anything is doable. Take some measurements and see what you get, but I suspect you'll find the Chevy fronts are too long to make for an easy or useful mod.

The search term you're looking for there is "rears up front", or RUF. It's a very popular mod. My personal opinion is that Chevy/RUF works very very well when you take the time to dial it in, which is normally a damned lot of adding and removing and changing around leaves in the packs until you get it just right. If you just burn in some mounts and slap some leaves on there I doubt you'll get the ride you're looking for. But that's just my opinion. Ok thanks ill check it out. Ride quality im not too worried about because i think im going to run full width axles either from that blazer or my brother has a pair of disc brake ford 1tons that im looking at. So its going to be on a trailer once i do the SAS and engine swap
