Hello Everybody,
i am new to the Forum... my fiancee is a long time owner of a 4th Generation 4 Runner Sport that reached 188k miles before we decided to sell it and exchange it for another 4 Runner, 5th Generation TRD-Pro that we really liked both for it's looks and its functionality and since it was owned by a family member, we trusted to purchase it.
Now i am trying to figure out what mods have been exactly done... he did all the mods back when he first purchased this 4 Runner in 2015 and he doesn't remember exactly... all he said is that he is pretty sure he got everything from Toytec including the Rear Air Suspensions... anyway, his ultimate goal was to put 34.5" tires on it (YES, he had to do the Body Mount chop, but it has been done well and has been re-Welded properly with a thick metal plate)
So i went out and took some pics and tried to match up our 4 Runner with what i see on the Toytec site, but i bet you guys are more expert than me in doing this analysis:
1ST PIC: a side view of our 4 Runner
2nd PIC: top of the Front Suspensions
3rd PIC: Bottom of the Front Suspension
4th PIC: Bottom of the Rear Suspension
5th PIC: Top of the Rear Suspension
So it is pretty obvious that in the Rear it has the Toytec Coil, but at the front, on the Top, he has a Shiny Silver Spacer, whereas Toytec site says that kit is all Black Anodized...
Also, they are hard to see, but he has some Dark Dark Blue Anodized Spacers, he pushed out the Wheels 1" or 1.25", he doesn't remember, but he is pretty sure they were Spidertrax Spacers, so i believe they are 1.25" thick.
NOW FOR THE BIG QUESTION
when we were talking about what he remembered and what not, he is sure of the fact he never spent money to do the Upper Control Arm, because reality is that he used this 4Runner just to go to the Office and as a Mall Crawler...
but me and my Fiancee like to go on Overlanding Trips and doing some Mild Off road, and last thing we want is to watch our Tire roll down the mountain beside us...
We like Camping and Grilling in the wild, nothing extreme let me be clear, but this was also the main reason for our upgrade do the TRD Pro, since her old 4 Runner Sport wasn't quite good going over tall obstacles, and now that we can go over tall obstacles, we wouldn't want to end up with the Joints breaking down on us every 50k miles.
The TRD-Pro is our perfect fit, especially because the Air Suspension in the back allows us to fill the back with all our Camping equipment without having the Car shining Light int he Sky.
keeping in mind the big 34.5" Tires are coming off in a couple of Weeks and getting exchanged with 33" (my Brother loves those tires and he will gift us the new Tires from his Jeep that he just ordered)... can you guys makeup what has been installed on this 4Runner, and for the big questions: what issues am i going to have in the long term considering we plan to keep this car long long term???
