Rear End Squeak

Hey guys just wondering if you have any insight. Im beginning to hear a squeak coming from the back of my car. It is apparent when going over speed bumps etc

Furthermore, I can jump up and down on my tow hitch to reproduce the sound. It sounds like it is coming from the right rear and only happens at the top of the motion. (meaning it squeaks only at the top most part of the up and down motion) I don't off road, have not driven on anything dirty. The only thing I have done is drive down a curb at a very slow speed. I had my 2 right wheels on the curb and the others on the street, cut the wheel to the left and proceeded down the curb slowly. I dont think this could have done anything but that is where the sound is coming from now.

Any ideas?

Im going to take it to the dealer this Saturday.

doesn't sound like it would be a big deal... but since you have an 07 the only thing it will cost you is TIME...

so good luck

haha you wont believe it...it was the spare tire.

it appears that the spring is squeaking as the suspension travels.

i went under my truck and jiggling the spare tire reproduces the sound

let me know if it is the same for you

i think WD40 should solve the problem just fine

Well i rotated my tires (including my spare) yesterday and i haven't heard the squeak today. I might spray some WD40 when i get home from work just to be safe.

thanks for the heads up!!

Another source

Just in case someone else finds this thread, my annoying squeak that was driving me crazy ended up being the tailgate latch. A bit of grease and the squeak was gone! Just in time to save my sanity.
