I really like this. I was considering doing a Grey Man Tactical Panel with some riv-nuts and such. But, my aspirations are always larger then my willingness to work, so Velcro seams like an amazing idea.

I used some self tapping screws and a few washers. The holes aren’t big enough to be noticed if I ever took it off, but it works so well that I don’t foresee taking it off. I just recommend getting a tear away pouch if ur gonna keep ur med kit there

I like my RCR 4WD rear storage racks. I've been able to attach all the things you mentioned plus some extras. Now, I'll be honest. RCR is in Venezuela so delivery time can vary so expect a few weeks for delivery. There is also some quality control issues with quality of paint, burrs and such but for a $150 cheaper than Rago or Orange Boxx, I'll clean it up myself but overall, I'm really pleased with them. Check them out on Instagram. @rcr4wd Sorry for the sideways pics but I can't seem to rotate them. Blue Ridge Overland Gear also makes an interior roof net that could work some of the softer items but free space is free space.

Yes, cargo net tied to tie-up points on ceiling. Someone on T4R made his own web cargo net. Beautifully made!
Use only for soft cargo.

Don't know if applicable to your generation, but I cleaned up inside body panels of my first-gen, got rid of stock inner panels and converted the entire interior of rear body panel to storage (here)
Tools, etc. are our of sight

FYI I carried one of those folding style shovels you have on your rack for years in the infantry because the government made us. It is dead weight. Dump it and get a real shovel. They are total crap

Nice! I picked up some ring-eye bolts from HD and some rubber grommets and put 2 on each side and used heavy duty rubber straps on both ends to hook it down solid - no rattlling or shaking.

Bungee Overhead Storage Solution for 4th Gen (or any gen) Great for overlanding!
I have a 2004 4th gen sport, but this should work for about any generation really.
I installed an overhead bungee system. All you will need is about 10 feet of bungee cord, a carabiner, screwdriver, lighter, ratchet, and some 1" strap.
1- Fold the 1" strap in half, heat up a screwdriver, and melt a hole in the strap. Make 4 of these.
2- Use the hole you just made to tread the bolt that attaches the handles above the passenger doors and the rear hangers.
3- Tread the bungee cord in the loops you just created.
And you are done. If none of that made sense, see the photos.
I leave mine installed all the time and don't notice it. I can unclip the carabiner and run the bungee all the way across the vehicle (above the passenger seats). Makes a really handy place to hang things when you are overlanding or sleeping inside the truck.
Side note, you can use that same 1" strap to make yourself a new liftgate strap if yours is nasty.
