This is stupid on so many levels, I just have to vent. It drives me nuts how the press will take something and manipulate it to meet their agenda, no matter how ridiculous.

First: I like the way they mention on a brief side note the lamps could have melted from a dumpster fire, not global warming.....which one is more likely? Second: the suggestion that things begin to spontaneously combust at 115 degrees is stupid. Third: if there truly is global warming, how can they be so certain it is caused by humans when the climate has been fluctuating for eons. Fourth: even if it were caused by humans, going out and buying a Prius will not reverse it. Fifth: taxing people with "green" policies doesn't help anything, it's just a financial burden on people who otherwise might be able to afford a new $25k hybrid or EV......which almost has to be a second car. Build an electric vehicle that will take me to my hunting lease, go up a mountain trail, haul my family and our luggage on a cross-country trip, pull my boat, and (most importantly) get me to work safely in a blizzard.....I'll be happy to buy one. Until then, I'll drive what best suits MY needs.

You don't think there might be a possibility that politicians support "green" policies as a means of revenue and not because they're genuinely concerned about the environment? Maybe just a little conflict of interest?

To be honest, I don't really understand how the lamps could melt due to global warming? This is just a big headline to increase the ratings, as well as to show that they are supposedly trying to protect nature. But there is no denying that global warming is fiction. Recently, the level of air pollution has really decreased, but this is certainly not the merit of the state. For example, the fact that some people changed their regular cars to electric cars allowed them to reduce their emissions by 15% -20%. I believe that someone who really wants to help nature, he must begin with himself. For example, plant a tree. It would seem that the action is not so significant, but very useful for nature.
