Road Trip from SWFL to ME

Have a great trip. We just did the Delaware-to-Maine drive back in early July. Spent a week on Mount Desert Isle. My 2007 V6 Sport was getting 20-21 mpg on the highway stretches. Next time we go, I want to find some trails more challenging than the fire roads where we were this trip!

Thanks for the replies guys
So far everything is 100%. We drove from Atlanta to CT non-stop, again 20.xx to 21.xx MPG. After a few days at Dad's we've made it up to ME [Bidiford(sp?)]. This is a beautiful state! Had to do the tourist thing today, Freeport (LLBean) and Portland Headlight (lighthouse).
Followed about 3 miles of trails today. The local I was riding with kept telling me to speed up and blast up the inclines to make it as he does in his '00 Tundra. He's not a nut or hack by any stretch but he hadn't seen ATRAC do it's thing. He really pumped me to 'hit it' for the 3rd hill, I stopped half way up. His eyes were big, he actually gasped a bit when I gently feathered the gas pedal and took off up the remainder of the hill
I had no idea how snappy the V6 was... Running in stifling heat does take it's breath away; what a joy to drive at 41F-70F. Tomorrow morning should be the coldest yet for me, low-mid 30's.

Glad you're having fun in our great state! Its been darn cold at night lately, which is somewhat atypical. You should stop at the Maine Diner, just down the road from Biddeford, in Wells, on your way out of town.

Glad you're having fun in our great state! Its been darn cold at night lately, which is somewhat atypical. You should stop at the Maine Diner, just down the road from Biddeford, in Wells, on your way out of town.

I have left ME and I am back in CT today. A couple of days with my Dad and then back to FL via Atlanta. The Atlanta route adds 110 miles but the drive down 81 and 77 is so much better than 95 it's worth it. In addition we're travelling with our children. (They spent the summer in CT and ME respectively.) We have good accomodations in Atlanta.

Glad to hear the trip went well.
Too bad I didn't see this thread earlier. You drove right by my street on the way to Portland Head Light. Could have given you a little local knowledge for sights and food.

The pics were on the NE side of metro Atlanta (Buford). It is fun, there's probably 5-6miles total some of which requires a heavily modded rig, other areas could be handled by a 2wd T4R and a semi-smart driver. You can navigate 60+% of the area in 2wd, another 25% requires the use of 4wd and the last little bit would require a lift, tires and a winch. There's a few small but deep clay mud pits.
I have been to the area many times. Technically you're not supposed to be in there but on any weekend day there'll be many vehicles parked by the road with dirt bikes etc in tow. The cops cruise by. Then for 30 days or so they'll throw everybody out
