Bono and the boys from Dublin, Ireland put on an incredible show last night at The Georgia Dome for me and 71,000 of my closest friends!!! No, not 17,000......71,000!!!!!! I wonder how many bands and singers (popular today) could draw that kind of crowd (every year) after 30 years???? Not many, IMHO.
Incredible show!! Was loud as hell but mixed perfectly! I brought earplugs just in case, but never used them.
I am still overwhelmed by the enormity of all that I heard and saw last night. They played 2.5 hours including 3 encores and no BS commentary between songs. I never left my seat once for a beer or restroom break until the show was over. I didn't want to miss anything. I didn't see anyone else leaving thier seats either until the last note was played.
A fantastic band.....true gentlemen, gifted musicians and completely professional. If they played 2 nights in ATL, I'd be there again right now.
I think one true measure of how good a band is, is how good they sound live. U2 sounded better live than on the studio recording, IMO.
I'll never forget that show, and I have been to many, many , many concerts in my life.
