Saying goodbye and a note about used values

I recently sold my 2003 SR5 Runner, V6, 4WD with 140,000 miles. Owned since new, meticulous maintenance and nothing deferred. No rust on frame or undercarriage, paint 9/10, interior 9/10. KBB high book was around $6,500, Toyota dealer offered $4,000 on trade for a 2025 Camry. Just for the heck of it, listed it on CL for $12,000 and had three full price offers the first day and sold it for full price to the first one that contacted me. We do offroading in the mountains but never deal with snow so general appeal is less than northern climates do don't sell em cheap folks.

I seldom posted here but this was an invaluable resource at times and so wanted to say thanks and goodbye. The Camry forum isn't nearly as much fun as apparently no one wants to offroad their sedan

Thanks for posting the info and especially the prices. I've got a 2008 I'll be selling next year to get a new vehicle and will definitely be posted on CL as well, so I was already thinking about what price I should put.

Will be nice to have your post a reference for selling.

Selling a used 4Runner is usually to someone who knows about them and the mods made, etc. so KBB doesn't mean much unless you go for a trade and we know the dealer will try and steal it. Glad to hear you asked a decent price and got it, that is what I would expect.

Holy Cow! You sold an 03 for $12k. Thats nuts even at 140,000. Just in time for the head gasket to blow out LOL. CONGRATS! Enjoy your new camry. It will be a whole different drive.
