My question is, does anybody know how accurate the horsepower readout is on the Scangauge?
Anybody have a Dyno readout and scangauge that can compare?
I’m aware that the number the scangauge shows would be the HP at the flywheel and not the HP at the wheels, but I’m interested if there is any correlation and if it’s relatively accurate.
I’ve had my scangauge for about 3 or 4 years now and I just found out a couple weeks ago it even has a HP readout. I bought it for one reason, and that’s to monitor the trans temp when I’m pulling my camper or raft.
I was able to get my Scangauge to show 259 HP today. Seems like it could be accurate considering it should have 245 HP stock and I have the AFE SI intake and Gibson catback exhaust. 14 HP between those two things is conceivable.
Later this winter I plan on getting the URD equal length headers and the URD MAF calibrator to tie it all together. After that I do plan on doing a dyno just to see where it sits after doing a few things, so at that point I suppose I’ll be able to answer my own question. Just curious if anybody knows now if it’s accurate or not.
