I need to do an oil change (55k). Do I need to do anything particular to maintain my warranty? Save receipt for filter and oil? Buy them from the dealer? Take the 4Runner to the a dealer for service?
Scheduled maintenance and extended warranty.

Years ago I worked claims for a warranty company and in this kind of a situation we wanted to see oil and filter reciepts and some sort of log indicating the mileage at the time. Even better was a complete log of any vehicle activity (like fueling). As long as the dates/miles were consistent, we considered it a non-issue, though there could be other reasons to deny the claim (such as abuse).

^ He's right, and it may vary by state. You are not required to use the dealer for service to maintain your warranty, but good records are a must.
Case purchases
In several situations, the owner of the vehicle would purchase a case of oil and several filters to use for several oil changes. As long as the amount of oil and the number of filters matched up (no buying 2 filters and claiming 4 oil changes), it was considered legit.
