Schrockworks misrepresents product

foreign steel is not the same as domestic USA steel. Or any alloys for that matter.

to say the billet aluminium UCAs are the exact same because they look the same is crazy.
I wouldn't put a single piece of junk from alibaba on my vehicle.

Yes, a lot of foreign steel is better actually. After WW2 we helped Japan and Germany rebuild their infrastructure and as a result they had steel furnaces that were modernized compared to many of ours that were literally from the 1800's and never upgraded. Fortunately that has started to change in the US over the past 20 years or so.

So they offered to help you but you hung up on them? Great. Don't get me wrong, they shouldn't advertise made in USA and ship something made in China, but they still tried to help.

There's shit made in every country. I could give a rats ass if something is made in China as long as it's well made. Everything is made to a standard and they are capable of building good things. Look at iPhones.
 
I can't wait to see the broken UCA'S and the like from these parts you guys buy from alibaba.

I have seen these alibaba parts that they make for jeeps. And they are complete junk. They use either factory photos, or photos of they parts they used to make thier copys.

But it's you car, money and life. Spend it the way you want.
 
Sorry I was not clear. They hung up on me. When I returned the d-rings they refunded the price but not shipping. I only bought the d-rings because the advertised them as made in the USA. When they were asked to change their ad they said no, so apparently they are OK with falsely advertising products they sell. It make me wonder if any of their product claims are true.
 
Very few companies refund shipping cost on returns regardless of the reasons. Not agreeing it is right. As far as remarks to counterfeit goods-those comments are spot on. Buy at your own risk because it's your safety at the end of the day.

They must be SMART! I bet they don't even pay taxes. What's wrong with buying your products in China and then selling them in America as made in the U.S.A.? :thumb:
 
... Not all metal/alloys are created equal. Just because something looks the same as something else doesn't mean it's built the same with the same quality control.

That is my truck! Needless to say, that was a DO bumper- picked up directly from their shop.

The shackles on SW website are $16 as shown here

The smittybilt shackles you describe are $15 as shown here

The only thing on SW page that suggests the shackles are made in USA is the last bullet point of a generic graphic that vaguely states "USA"

To call out their company for "misrepresenting products" over a 2 dollar discrepancy on a product that they are clearly retailing and not actually producing, quite frankly makes you an *******.

Their actual fabrication and products they produce are among the best in the industry. Bringing their integrity into question over the standard 3/4" black shackle that can be found on virtually every online offroad retailer is pretty unreasonable dude.

[MENTION=132683]smokeatrr[/MENTION] Thanks for letting us know about this. As someone who does make an effort to buy American made products, or at least not made in China stuff, I too would be upset. Why would they put U.S.A. on the ad except to make people think they're made here? It's simple, just put Made in China, or get fancy with it and call it "Imported", and that would be the end of it. I'm sure they make good stuff but there's no need for that, especially after you've pointed it out and they won't change it.

This post is interesting in two ways.

1. the OP is being ridiculous. Shockworks makes very high quality products and is a stand up company.

2. The alibaba crap is all vaporware... Please someone buy that junk and see if you ever receive anything. Let alone anything that works.

Total Chaos, ICON.... the list goes on. All mfg their stuff right here in the good old USA. There is no verification of anything on alibaba. You would most likely receive a picture... If you somehow received an actual product. Please test it out for us all, just not on public roads.
